FISHING REPORTS
October 2009:
October started where the rest of the season left off. HOT! Action galore. Suckers were pretty
much the food of choice, as most everybody who was using them, was catching fish. We started
the month off with the 72 hour Fishing For The Kids Marathon, run out of Smokey's Muskie Shop.
Thanks to John, Gordy, Rick, and Ron for all there help out there. Bad storms, and wind made
this years outing the toughest yet. Anything for the kids! A SPECIAL thanks to Kelly Weber. She
showed how much she loves Muskie Fishing, and cares about the kids. Kelly spent over 40
straight hours in the boat during the outing. She kept her streak of catching a legal fish going, buy
getting a nice 36 incher in some horrible conditions, for us anyway. We also saw and lost 15 other
fish that pretty much just wanted to play with our weathered emotions. Thanks again Kelly, I
couldn't have gotten thru this years outing without your help!

The rest of the month has been for us, a learning experience. With the lake becoming clearer,
we spent the month testing other approaches to fall Muskie fishing. I like not doing what
everybody else is. Alot of times, we can catch fish during times no one else is. That new
information will benefit our 2010 clients. We have been able to establish some new patterns, and
some new aggressive trolling and casting tracks on the water, that will make 2010 our best year
ever. There won't be a November posting, because the time on the water is pretty much our time
to explore, and get extreme. Take care and have a great winter, and look forward to the 2010
season!
